I have been moving my whole life, literally. I have been dancing for over 30 years, teaching for more than 15, and ran my own dance studio for 11 of those years. Over the years I have danced it all: Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin and Ballroom, as well as Traditional Japanese and Thai dancing, Belly Dance (Tribal & Fusion), Irish Dance, Highland Dance and Burlesque.
One thing I noticed early on was that dance has this magic about it. It lights people up, especially women. My classes became a kind of safe space for my students, whether they were six years old or sixty. It was where they could just be themselves again. I did not have the words for it back then, but I could feel it.
When my daughter was born, a seed was planted in my heart, the dream of creating a space for community, healing and support, especially for mothers and families. I didn’t know what it would look like yet, but I carried it with me for years, jotting down ideas whenever inspiration struck.
The truth is, movement has always been my way of moving emotions through my body, long before I knew that was what I was doing. As a child, it just came naturally. Later in life, after facing my own challenges, I started exploring healing modalities: Bowen Therapy, Kinesiology, Tapping, Breathwork, Spiritual work, Somatics and more. Each one gave me something valuable, and I began to weave those lessons into my own life.
That was when I realised something powerful: movement was not just exercise or art, it was one of the most effective, natural ways to release the stuck energy, emotions and tension our bodies hold onto.
I became fascinated with how our bodies store emotions, energy and even memories, sometimes from way back in childhood, and how these can show up as tension, pain or even illness if we do not give them space to move through. The more I learned about the connection between our emotions and our bodies, the more I felt pulled towards combining my years of dance experience with this deeper understanding of somatic healing.
So I began experimenting. I played with repetitive, intentional dance movements, noticing how each one felt in my body, which emotions they stirred, and which parts of the body they seemed to unlock. Some made me feel lighter. Some brought tears. Some grounded me right into the present moment. Over time, I crafted and refined sequences designed to help people release, reset and feel good again, all while moving and having fun.
When I started sharing these sessions with women, the response blew me away. Every single person left feeling lighter, more present and wanting more. Their feedback confirmed what I felt in my heart, this was the work I was meant to do.
Today, through Unleashed Healing, I get to combine everything I have learned, including decades of dance teaching, nervous system regulation and holistic practices, to create sessions that are more than just movement. They are spaces where women can reconnect with themselves, let go of what is weighing them down, and remember how good it feels to be in their own body.
If you join one of my sessions, you will find a warm, welcoming environment where nothing is too much or not enough. You will be guided through a thoughtfully designed flow of movement, meditation, journaling and gentle practices that work together to help your body, mind and spirit feel supported.
This is my purpose: to help women release what no longer serves them, create communities of support, and step forward feeling lighter, clearer and more present in their lives. Because when we let go of the heaviness we have been carrying, we make space for joy, connection and the beauty that has always been within us.
